Derrick Thomas

Attorney at Law

Derrick Thomas has been winning jury and bench trials for over 26 years in civil and criminal cases. Based upon his extraordinary courtroom skills and high ethical standards, he was selected as a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America. Selection in the Litigation Counsel is highly selective and by invitation only. The Litigation Counsel of America Fellows is composed of less than half of 1% of U.S. lawyers. Let Derrick handle your personal injury, workers’ compensation, and litigation matters.

Derrick is a Veteran with a rather unique military background. He has served in the United States Army Reserves, Pennsylvania National Guard and as a Judge Advocate General in the United States Marine Corps.

"I take the time to get to know you as a person so I can represent your story honestly and accurately."

Making a meaningful difference in his clients’ lives is equally important to Derrick in his community outreach. Derrick is a dedicated leader within his community, functioning as the Legal Advisor for MEGA Mentors, Chairman of the Board for the Jennie M. Shaw Community Development Foundation, a Deacon at Fifth Street Baptist Church and a Chapter Counsel and Chairman of the Election and Benevolence Committees of the Richmond (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Derrick is an avid reader and golfer and enjoys playing chess and traveling.
